Subdural Hematoma
SDH is a collection of blood between the dura mater and arachnoid membrane, often resulting from head trauma. Clinical features include headache, confusion, focal deficits, and reduced consciousness. Pathophysiology involves tearing of bridging veins with subsequent mass effect on the brain. Diagnosis relies on CT imaging and clinical correlation. Management includes surgical evacuation for large or symptomatic hematomas and supportive care; prognosis depends on hematoma size, chronicity, and patient comorbidities.
