Klüver–Bucy Syndrome

Klüver–Bucy syndrome is a rare neurobehavioral disorder resulting from bilateral temporal lobe damage. Clinical manifestations include hyperorality, hypersexuality, placidity, visual agnosia, and memory deficits. Pathophysiology involves disruption of the amygdala and associated limbic structures. Diagnosis is clinical, supported by neuroimaging. Management is largely supportive, with behavioral interventions and antipsychotics for agitation; prognosis depends on underlying etiology and lesion severity.
