Frotteuristic Disorder

Frotteuristic disorder is a paraphilic disorder characterized by recurrent sexual arousal from touching or rubbing against a non-consenting person, causing significant distress or impairment. Etiology involves neurodevelopmental, psychosexual, and behavioral conditioning factors. Clinically, patients may engage in covert sexual behaviors in crowded settings, with legal and social consequences. Diagnosis requires assessment of persistent patterns of arousal, functional impairment, and exclusion of culturally normative behavior. Management includes psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and pharmacologic treatment to reduce compulsive sexual behavior. Prognosis improves with adherence to treatment and behavioral modification strategies.
