Female Orgasmic Disorder

Female orgasmic disorder is a sexual dysfunction characterized by persistent difficulty, delay, or absence of orgasm during sexual activity despite adequate stimulation and desire. Etiology includes psychological, relational, hormonal, and neurobiological factors. Clinically, patients report distress, interpersonal strain, and reduced sexual satisfaction. Diagnosis requires sexual history, evaluation of medical or psychiatric comorbidities, and exclusion of medication-induced effects. Management involves psychosexual therapy, education, couple-based interventions, and treatment of contributing medical or psychological factors. Prognosis is favorable with individualized, multimodal treatment.
