Horner Syndrome
Horner syndrome is a triad of ptosis, miosis, and anhidrosis resulting from disruption of sympathetic pathways to the eye. Etiologies include stroke, trauma, tumor, or carotid artery dissection. Pathophysiology involves interruption of oculosympathetic fibers at any level from hypothalamus to eye. Diagnosis is clinical, supported by pharmacologic testing and imaging. Management targets the underlying cause; prognosis depends on etiology and reversibility.
