Tourette Disorder
Tourette disorder (Tourette syndrome) is characterized by multiple motor tics and at least one vocal tic persisting for more than one year. Etiology includes genetic, neurobiological, and environmental contributors. Clinically, patients exhibit complex motor and vocal tics, often worsening under stress. Diagnosis is clinical, based on DSM-5 criteria and longitudinal assessment. Management involves behavioral interventions, pharmacotherapy for severe symptoms, and psychoeducation.
